Learn and share, and just be...


Event flow:

  • Warm Welcomes 

  • Introductions:

    Learn about forest bathing and the history of the land and Brookdale park.

  • Forest bathing and sensory meditation:

    Experience forest bathing as we make our way through the park. Immerse yourself in "tree time". Connect with your senses and nature outside and within.

  • Foraging:

    Learn about medicinal plants growing in Brookdale park. Get to know them through your senses. Create your personal plant journal to take home.

  • Sharing circles:

    Share your thoughts and observations in a supportive group setting or share with silence. Everything is welcome.

  • Tea tasting:

    Taste a variety of herbal teas made with the plants foraged in the park.

  • Book Reading:

    Add your voice to a shared reading experience of excerpts from Robin Wall Kimmerer's latest book "The Serviceberry".

  • Goodbyes



Event facilitators:

  • Liubou Shefarevich:

    founder of Nature-hearted LLC; a certified nature & forest therapy guide, EcoNIDRA meditation teacher, mindful eating practitioner, and a linguist. Liubou enjoys gardening, crafting herbal products, reading and writing poetry. She is also learning the art of herbalism at the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine.

  • Sky Schenkel:

    founder of Sky Hawk Walks on a mission to connect people from all walks of life to the healing and wondrous power of nature.
