About the event

Experiencing awe in nature adds to our vitality and wellbeing. Sandy Hook is one of the few places in New Jersey with an old-growth forest, and it's on the beach! A truly special combination. During this event, we will hold space and create opportunities for connections between your nature and the nature around you.


Event flow:

  • Warm Welcomes 

  • Introductions:

    Learn about nature therapy and forest bathing and what makes old-growth forests special.

  • Forest bathing and Sensory meditation:

    Experience forest bathing as we make our way through the old-growth forest. Immerse yourself in "forest time". Connect with your senses and nature outside and within.

  • Ocean time:

    Learn about the benefits of grounding and being immersed in ocean ambiance. Experience the shore with your senses.

  • Guided movement:

    Flow through a sequence of poses on the beach.

  • Sharing circles:

    Share your thoughts and observations in a supportive group setting or share with silence. Everything is welcome.

  • Sunset gazing and tea ceremony:

    Make your way to the bay to watch the sunset and enjoy a mindful tea ceremony and refreshments.

  • Goodbyes

  • Liubou Shefarevich:

    founder and owner of Nature-hearted LLC; a certified nature & forest therapy guide, EcoNIDRA meditation teacher, mindful eating practitioner, and a linguist. Liubou enjoys gardening, crafting herbal products, reading and writing poetry. She is also learning the art of herbalism at the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine.

  • Sky Schenkel:

    founder and owner of Sky Hawk Walks on a mission to connect people from all walks of life to the healing and wondrous power of nature.
